CMP for Alex and Ani Bridal

I have been hard at work over the past month with the incredible team at Alex and Ani jewelry. Their hip expandable line of jewelry is just so cool. Even cooler is the evolution to the world of bridal design here at my creative firm. It is wild for me to think about the jewelry design in this sketch, evolving and actually coming to life. This afternoon I get to review the final pieces and make any necessary adjustments to get the collection ready for this Thursday's party at the grand opening of Alex and Ani in Newport in Rhode Island. I am so loving chad michael peters for Alex and Ani Bridal.

Until then I thought that you would enjoy seeing my sketch of the Alex and Ani bride. She has evolved over the past month, but in the end she is stunning. I am squeeling for you to see this jewelry live. Please join me this Thursday in Newport Rhode Island for the grand opening of Alex and Ani.

Please call my office at 508.999.1120 for more details.

Chad Michael Peters for Alex and Ani Bridal

I had a meeting last week that brought yet another change, an evolution really into the ever changing world of fashion that I love so much. I started with the flowers and have moved to planning and designing most details to the beautiful weddings that I am lucky enough to work on. I have been craving to work in fashion and somehow translate it into what I am doing all ready.

With my meeting from the team of Alex and Ani , makers of some of the most incredible jewelry that I have seen in a long time. I knew right away that we had hit on something big. While I can't share all of the details I can let you know that we will be working with both of our labels on a national launch of the coolest, inspired jewelry and accessory line that the bridal market has seen since beaded headbands and puffed sleeve with lace and sequins were all the rage in the 1980's. Of course our looks will move far, far away from those disasters.

I love the idea of this partnership and the creative involvement that I will have with design and marketing and promotional involvement. Of course, my sketching has to play a role in this. I have been hard at work designing a custom look that was the very definition of Chad Michael Peters for Alex and Ani......what do you think ?

I look forward to being at Alex and Ani in Newport Rhode Island on the 17th of December for the grand opening celebration of their newest location there and toasting our new partnership in the fabulous world of weddings.

CMP Decks the Halls at Alex and Ani December 17th

I am a fashion designer, not the fashion that you wear(yet), but the fashion that you look at. Color combinations, textures, fabrics and finishes all play a huge roll in the world of design, whether it is for the home, a wedding or an incredible Christmas event. I see the same principles being applied regardless. I personally love mixing it up, doing something a little different, outside of the box, yet in some way related and inspired by what I am currently doing.

The idea of jewelry to me has always been fascinating since I consider the floral work that I have done to be jewelry for the wedding table top. To fuse the world of hip jewelry with my design flair is exciting and I can hardly wait to create a showstopper for Alex and Ani this December 17th. You can see in my design that I am inspired by their designs and look forward to creating a magical evening.

Next week I head down to their corporate offices to discuss other potential projects.......you know my head is spinning, where will this little twist lead CMP to?

New Year's Eve Wedding at The Four Seasons Boston

OMG here we go again......I am thrilled beyond belief to be working again with the nicest family on the east coast, The Hearn Family. Sarah, one of their two stunning daughters has chosen to be married this New Year's at The oh so swank Four Seasons in Boston. The hotel holds a fond place in my heart as my Kevin and I spent many get away nights there when we first dating and I still had the expense account of a banker. Those days are gone but the romance is still there none the less.

New Year's eve has so many magical details to it anyway, what better night to go over the top, to have guests dressed to the nines to sip champagne and to bask in the romantic glow of a beautiful Grace Kelley bride and her oh so handsome groom.  I have planned the floral and decor details to the wedding to be soft and chic, per the bride. I will be using phaleonopsis orchids, gardenia, branches with crystal and candles and lots and lots of candles. This will all be set on a gorgeous dupioni silk pin tucked table cloth. Our transport shuttles will be providing guests transportation from the hotel to the Church in Wellesley and I get to personally photograph the event......too exciting.

Of course, New Year's day will bring a story and many amazing photos for us to share. I can hardly wait.

Boston Bridal Bling

I have realized over the years that one of the reasons my clients continue to work with me is that not only can I come up with creative designs that are inspired by the bride's wishes but I can also put a pen to paper to show how all of the details will come together for the bride's big day.

I love my colored pencils, but it is impossible to represent white in sketches. I love, love the oh so chic idea of all white, modern, clean and embellished with crystal accents. Mounds and Mounds of gorgeous roses all in white, trimmed with candles and crystals complete this look. I am looking forward to taking the bride's favorite flower, the rose and creating custom lighting projections onto the almost room sized dance floor. There are so many fun details to look at with this wedding, I can hardly wait to finalize where we will have the reception and move on to the fun planning of the decor and of course to give you, my readers an inside scoop into the fabulous world of wedding planning and design.

CMP The Wedding Stylist at The Hampshire House Boston

I am so excited to be working this weekend in Boston as the wedding florist, stylist and photographer on the wonderful wedding of Erin and Suzanne. Boston to me has some of the most amazing architecture in the world and I am excited to use it as the backdrop to this gorgeous wedding. We will start the day early with formal portraits at nine a.m., followed by a lovely ceremony in the panelled walls of The Hampshire House's Ballroom.

I hope the day turns out to be as nice as it looks on the radar because our plan calls for formal portraits to be done in the famed Boston Common Gardens. I will be working with my oh so talented friend Nelly from Lumina Images to capture the day for these lovely ladies.

I just finished my rendering of how the floral details will look in the room. The fabrics are pretty neutral in shades of celadon and antique gold. I think that the bright pops of color and accents of pomegranates and champagne grapes are so appropriate for the season and will make the room fresh and romantic for the ladies. Stay tuned, I will have a ton of photos hot of the lense of my new Canon Seven D. Congrats Ladies.

Give daily thanks

For a long time now I have started each day with a special thank you note to those who have helped me or done something nice for me the day before. I take the time to put in writing what so few of us even have the time to e:mail or voice mail in this fast paced world. In addition I take the time to draw a little floral bouquet and hand color it with my French water colour pencils as a special way of giving back.

I have heard that these thank you notes are kept and some are even framed as a reminder of our special relationships. So much has been done for me over the years, it is the least that I can do in return. I hope that they are enjoyed. I thought that I would share with you a few of the notes and the drawings that were sent from my office this week.

Strawberry Fall Blush

I am excited to be working with the Hearn family on their daughter Laura's fall wedding to be held at Boston's Marriott Copley Plaza Hotel. Laura right off the bat reminded me of Anne of Green Gables with her strawberry blond hair and radiant old world beauty. She has chosen to wear an incredible lace embroidered gown in ivory and will be surrounded by pale flowers in shades of ivory and chartreuse with just a touch of pale apricot. I am excited to be working in a multi style capacity on this wedding, from the wedding florist, I will quickly change hats and cover the wedding with my photo journalistic style and floral inspired perspective. I am sure the joy that has been felt in the Hean Household will show through on the wedding day. I can hardly wait to get her flowers under way.

After the last dance is danced we will get under way with the planning for yes, another Hearn daughter who has chosen to be married on New Year's Eve at the oh so elegant Four Season's Hotel. Stay tuned for her evening in Paris inspired wedding.

Purple Haze

Newport Rhode Island has to be one of the most glamorous places on the east coast to be married. For centuries it has been defined as a tony escape for the well to do. There are so many places to consider hosting an event that it is sometimes hard to make a choice.

My bride, Kim and I have chosen the fabulous Regatta Club on the Newport Waterfront. There is a wonderful tent filled with billowing fabric and a classic teak floor which will be the perfect backdrop for the decor and details that we are planning in shades of purple, hence the purple haze. I have brought together some of the best vendors in the industry to help make this a once in a lifetime day for my bride.

I have asked Gigi DeManio to photograph the day starting with a simple ceremony in Bristol and through our incredible reception on the water. Once we are at the reception, we will get the party started with D.J. Raffi, his incredible music, and a cool lighting display to wash the room in shades of watery turquoise. As a special detail, a floral motif that I will custom create for the print material will be used again as a starting point for an incredible lighting display on the dance floor.

I am thrilled to be working with Kim, her family and such an amazing group of people. This will be a showstopper and I can hardly wait to have some cookies from the cookie bar. YUMMY !

Intimate City Celebration at Cafe Nuovo

With fall just right around the corner, I have been busy in my studio wrapping up planning and design details for the very busy September, October wedding season. I have been working with my bride and groom over the past year to plan and design an intimate city celebration to be held this fall at one of my favorite restaurants, Cafe Nuovo in Providence, Rhode Island. They will first be married and have their wedding photography done on the architecturally amazing grounds of Brown University. The rich colors of watermelon, carmel and touches of apricot will look amazing against the marble of the grand rotunda where their reception will be held and will complement the falling leaves and turning of the season.

I love that this bride has chosen to make her own print material for the wedding. Her design, use of ribbon in an unexpected way and just a touch of seasonality with the little letterpress leaves leave me wanting more. I can hardly wait to see all of these gorgeous details among the branches, gilded leaves and amazing deep pink and burnt orange flowers.

Cape Cahd Summa Classic

I am proud to have grown up on the south coast of Massachusetts. The water holds a special lure for me and many of the clients that I work with. Sailing is a huge way of life down here so it is no surprise to find brides being inspired by the ocean and the many nautical details that come from living along the coast.

I was thrilled when long time friends from Rochester came to me to help with their daughter's wedding. At first, I felt old because Mary, the bride was a toddler when I was in high school. To see her with her handsome groom got me feeling sentimental at the many years that have passed since I lived in Rochester. We have worked together over the past year to plan a gorgeous wedding filled with nautical navy, crisp white and flowers in fresh shades of yellows, chartreuse, white and delphinium blue.

I am so excited to show the details of her wedding in this design here. I can hardly wait to show you the photos from this elegant, seaside wedding coming up in a couple weeks.
