Kimberly and Brendan are getting married this Summer in Newport, Rhode Island. It made all the sense in the world to use this world class setting as the backdrop to their engagement portraits, which we went out and took yesterday. What a gorgeous day! Kimberly and I have been working hard over the past year to plan her wedding to perfection. She is so sweet and her groom, Brendan is a gem, it has made the wedding almost easy.
In the course of our planning, I have worked on all sorts of things for this wedding celebration. From sketches, to cakes and ribbons in three shades of purple. We talked about engagement photos as a memory of this exciting time. I agreed as a friend of the family to go out and do this as my gift to the couple and as a special thanks for all of the work that they have entrusted my firm to do. Now this is an important part of the story as we were all nearly arrested on the grounds of the Mansion.
We had asked to take some photos inside the mansion earlier in the day and the answer came back, no. That required a whole chain of command and paperwork, fees, etc. Who knew?
We made the most of the awesome weather and headed out on to the majestic lawns and a magnificent garden folly constructed as a Chinese Tea House. If you know me, then you know that I love a good Asian motif. There were lots of people taking photos as this is allowed on the grounds of the mansions provided you have tickets and we did.
Not too many clicks into the shoot we were ambushed by the head of the mansion as she told us that we could not take photos. I could not receive compensation for the photos that I was taking of Kimberly and Brendan. I answered truthfully. So for the record, these photos are my gift to you, my friends.
I look forward to each and every one of our meetings and look forward to the final details coming together for your wedding. Until then enjoy this glimpse into an incredible day. So many thanks first for rockin' the black patent leather pumps with a peep toe and your perfect red toenail polish. Love it! Second to both you and Brendan for being great subjects and to the incredible lobster lunch laced with tequila. And last but not least to my friend in the biz Jacki Norrie of Tresses for making Kim's hair red carpet glam!
