Writing Example:

When we think of New England beaches we think of picnics, splashing in the waves, and enjoying all of coastal Mother Nature and her many creatures. We understand and respect tradition and want to do our part to understand the many perspectives, both positive and negative that are associated with the preservation and protection of our beloved Duxbury Beach and its inhabitants.

It is our job to defend the creatures of the Duxbury seashore

that can not defend themselves.

It is our voice and sharing of the shore philosophy that has allowed for the successful and peaceful mating cycle of the endangered Piping Plover bringing populations which have hovered at endangered status for many years back to healthier levels. This comes through the thought of sharing the beach and allowing limited access to breeding grounds, while still allowing access to the shoreline. This also means suspending the use of motorized vehicles on the beach and dunes. Sometimes, doing the right thing is unpopular and we understand and respect that. We are doing everything we can to make the beach going experience at Duxbury Beach Reservation a positive, fun, and educational experience for the entire family, while preserving and protecting the fragile eco-system.
