Praez does peacock inspired invitation with Chad Michael Peters

Peacock feathers like anything else can provide a inspiration to a party or a wedding celebration. Here my partners at Praez Occasions and I worked together to create this wonderful peacock inspired invitation to a wedding that is coming up in three weeks. You ask why are the invitations going out so close to the wedding? Well, a couple a weeks ago when my brides flew into town to meet with me and to discuss their wedding, we all decided that their original plan of having a wedding in Provincetown was crazy. It  is way too cold to head down to Provincetown to throw a destination wedding in February.

No worries for me, my dreamteam can pull off anything under anytime frame. We all bravely marched through zero degree weather through the streets of Boston until we got to one of my favorite new hip spots in the city to throw a party, The W Hotel. I saw the look on their faces right away and knew that this hotspot in the city would be where we would host the wedding.

So, when you change your plans, you gotta change a lot of other things too. No worries, given that this is a small wedding and everyone in the wedding party is already booked to come. I am so happy in the end that we made the changes that we did to throw the wedding in Boston. This peacock inspired wedding is going to be enchanting. Wait until you see what I have up my sleeve.

A special thanks to my personal friends and business colleuges, Zeb and Rae at Praez Occasions, who hand delivered this amazing printed art to my doorstep. Once again we have worked together to bring world class to these invitations. My brides are lucky that you are part of the mix. We are going places and I am enjoying the ride. Cheers Ladies!!

Wedding Web Sites

Of course I am crazy about the digital world. What better way to show off your engagement photos than with your own wedding web site. My brides of course get custom. Here you see the look of the wedding web site that I am working on for my bride and groom, Amy and Gregg. Their wedding is going to be held at the historic Chatham Bars Inn so I think that the shades of grey and platinum will look amazing. It reminds me of the incredible strie of neutral and natural color that can be found along the shores of my beloved Cape Cod.

When I publish the finished work next week, I will be sure to let you know. Many thanks to Perez Photography for their amazing capture of this stunning couple. The images are so rich, filled with color and inspirational to me as I work on this digital project.

Sneek Peak into the most fabulous Liberty Hotel Wedding

My office has been in a flurry of design details as I prepare for the very busy wedding season that lies ahead. Each bride is unique in her own way and I so want all of the details to not only be pretty, but to reflect that as well. For my bride Carissa, daughter of Red Sox Hall of Famer, Jim Rice, I have begun the design on her print material. Here is a sneak peak of her Save the Date design. I wanted to incorporate the gold which is prevalent through her wedding. In addition, I wanted to use crystals, because,  hey I love a bit of bling, and chains. We are throwing the wedding at the Liberty Hotel, a historic old jail, redone into the most fashionable hotel address in the city of Boston.....so chains totally make sense right ?

The Save the Date will open like a card to reveal a beautifully printed card announcing the wedding and to the left will have a similar card with hotel and travel information for the ease of her guests. I am so loving this and hope that she will too. This wedding is sure to be amazing as I have been challenged to create a once in a lifetime experience for a very special family that I am happy and proud to call friends.

Now that my partners at Praez Occasions have this proof from me, they know exactly the vision that I am going for. We use the Save the date as a design reference for the rest of the print material that will go along with the wedding suite. Of course I like things to not match, but to have more of a conversation with each other, looking beautiful together. Now that the print material is done, my next challenge is the decor. Wait until you see this, WOW !

2009 Christmas Card | Chad Michael Peters

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas music is playing on the radio. In years past Christmas has come in a whirl and I have hardly found the time to send holiday cards to my friends and colleagues. This year, I have made the commitment to take a moment to send holiday cheer by way of post. Because I own a creative company, I can't just send out any normal card right?

This year I will be working with Praez Occasions and Calligraphy by Jennifer to showcase a beautiful photograph that I took of anenomes, Praez's amazing construction and flair for printed design and of course,  the artful hand of Calligraphy by Jennifer. With there smart black ruffled throats and fancy red petals of the flowers, I think that this photo makes the perfect statement for the season. Combining the work of three artists is something that has me feeling giddy.

While I would love to send out these fabulous cards to everyone, I know that I just won't be able to. I feel lucky that I get to share the image here with you. I am so freakin excited to see this one come together. Thank you Praez, Thank you Jennifer. Humming......"it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"

Wedding planning, hand calligraphy and signature details

As a wedding planner and a designer it is important to me that each detail of a wedding or event be unique, inspired and as pretty as possible. To me, there is nothing more elegant than the art of calligraphy. I am so pleased with the work that Jennifer Medley Gillespie did on the table names, each representing a special place on Cape Cod for the bride and groom. I always want to take things to the next level and took it upon myself to hand draw with pen and ink and my French colored pencils the floweret detail that has been prevalent in the wedding. I love the beautiful curve of the calligraphy with the hand work and color of the wedding in the stylized drawing. I hope that my bride likes it too!!

I can hardly wait to see these details, along with all the others for the wedding come together. My floral inspired creative studio is in full swing for the next two days with this amazing event for my bride and groom Amy and Andrew. Congratulations to your both !

Wedding Planning Details

OMG, I am dying here in my studio over the flowers that are underway. My bride is certain to have her fancy tickled with the lush flowers in my personal favorite, white surrounded by abundant details in charcoal, mercury and white. I just finished up adding a little glitz to hand done calligraphy seating cards, love notes and escort cards which play a huge roll in our decor for this weekend. Laura Hooper's hand is sent from God, just an amazing old world mastery of the art of calligraphy. Together these details along with the masses of flowers and of course, feathers I am sure that the decor will set the romantic mood for the night and I am sure my bride will be happy.

And to Mrs. Griffith, I know that you are reading this right now and thinking that this could not possibly be your daughter's wedding....I assure you it is. Save me a dance I will personally see you on Saturday night. My best and Love, CMP

Invitation Design with Praez Occassions

I am so pleased to work on the print material of my weddings with the fabulous duo from Praez Occasions. They have a unique commitment to custom in the world of wedding and party stationary. We have worked together on many projects and I am pleased to show off a final design for a "save the date" for a next season bride.

Working together we bring the world of custom design to new heights. This save the date will serve as inspiration for all the wedding pieces that come together for Amy and Gregg.

We started the design process on this part of the wedding based on the use of the colors plum and charcoal grey. It is the hottest in the world of fashion right now and I can hardly wait to see it play out through this gorgeous Cape Cod Fall wedding.

With inspiration, visions and revisions we all have played a part in the incredibly chic design that you see here. Collaboration and I love it. Stay tuned for the cool information web site that will coordinate with this collection.

The art of wedding calligraphy

There is no finishing touch to wedding invitations that can match the art of the hand. Here you see gorgeous wedding invitations all addresses by hand in custom done, plum ink. You can see the floral motif which I drew months ago, duplicated in the stamp done by www.zazzle.com. Of course, not leaving any detail undone, I just had to hand draw the same flower on to the front of the invitation that was being sent to the bride. The rest of the invitations for the guests had the floral motif on the back envelope. So gorgeous. I am sure that the guest will love them.

Fall Couture Floral at The Chatham Bars Inn

It has been such an amazing experience working with my bride Amy on her fall wedding at The Chatham Bar's Inn. We have both worked very hard to have our mutual  visions come to life. Today we did the demo for her floral details. It is such an amazing experience to see my sketch and all the gorgeous flowers that we have talked about for months, come to life. The flowers in this colorway are so seasonal, fresh and bold and not at all cliche for her October wedding. For me it is so important that every detail be finished to perfection, this is the difference between off the rack and couture. I put this crazy attention to detail in everything that I do....right down to the candles. I adore the fresh flower button detail on the olive velvet ribbon.

I was also so completely shocked to see the finished invitations. Amy had asked me to do a sketch of a rosette so it could be used in the print material. I think that it looks so nice and I can hardly wait to get the finished envelopes back from the calligrapher. Even the stamps are custom.....so to die for.

I learned today that one of my absolute favorites, men in uniform will make their way into Amy's wedding. Marrying a Navy man is often marked with a walk through raised swords and a pat on the behind to welcome a new bride into the Navy tradition. I can hardly wait to see this gorgeous bride her handsome groom decked in military finery against the stunning backdrop of  The Chatham Bar's Inn. Amy your moms tears said it all, we are in for a stunner of a wedding.

Fall Floral Wedding Invitation

I am having a great time working with Amy and her family on their fall wedding at the Chatham Bars Inn. The elegant seaside setting is just amazing and the wedding plans are progressing in rich autumn colors.

We are working toward finalizing the print material and I just love the use of a modern floral motif in antique gold ink on the ivory cards. There will be a lovely and modern aubergine, grosgrain ribbon trim on the enclosure.

The envelope that the gorgeous announcement will come in will have the same floral motif and will be sent with custom stamps. The piece de resistance will be the hand done calligraphy in a flowy, flirty style. I can hardly wait to see them all printed up and ready to go to.
