Bay Club Mattapoisett Member Welcome Party | Champagne Theme
I have been a friend to The Bay Club and it members in Mattapoisett for nearly ten years now. It all started with their grand opening party filled with so many fabulous details. They still talk about it to this day. Over the years we have worked together to provide five star service to our members and friends. It is a relationship that just works. I have always loved the club and what they have done out there in the woods of Mattapoisett.
Each year we welcome new members to the club with a casual party to showcase the food and fun social scene that the club is known for. Of course they are also known for their Brad Faxon award winning golf course......Trust me, I like the social scene so much better. However, I can hold my own on the course. I level off with two tequilas and get better and better with every beer that I drink. My stories on the course are worth the round alone.
This year Champagne was the theme for our party. Not only did we bust out some fabulous vintage champagnes, we also served cocktails laced with the bubbly libation. For decor, I brought in my friends from Ten 31 Productions for their human golf statue. I have used them before for a wow and each time they deliver far beyond what I could imagine. The human statue was the hit of the party!!! Of course the flowers and other decor looked great and I got a ton of compliments, which I am always grateful for. I got a moment to chill and chat with my fun and fabulous friends from the club. But alas, all too soon the moment came when I had to tuck my head in for the night as two weddings called for the next day.
Thank you Bay Club. Our friendship is something that I cherish, the friends I have made, I adore. I look forward to many more. My best and love always, CMP

50 Golden Years | Spring Flower display | Bay Club Mattapoisett Events
I am always in creative mode. It seems that I am constantly digging through the thousands of photos that fill my computers and other technology devices. Once in a while, I find photos that I have never published before. These flowers and party setting were inspired by the bouquet being thrown into the air. I used antique bouquet holders and filled them with lush mounds of Hydrangea, roses, lisianthus and my favorite, sweet pea. I then hung these bouquets over the cake and the table top arrangements which were showstoppers in an of themselves with five french tulips, one for each decade of celebration, springing from the lush mound at the center of the table.
I adore tonal and nuances of color, so it was totally appropriate that gold filled the rest of the room. It was lovely. I was an invited guest to this party. One of the 50 honored guests to celebrate with this incredible family. The party was a while ago at the Bay Club in Mattapoisett, but the photos of these details bring me right back to it. I can almost smell the sweet pea.

Weekly Flowers, Bay Club Mattapoisett
The Bay Club in Mattapoisett is the very definition of chic, country club. With a world class course design by Brad Faxon the course has been host to the very top players in the field. It would enough to stop there, but the club also boasts one of the finest restaurants from Boston to Providence. Tucked on the property, the Club restaruant proudly displays the work of their master Chef, Jim Mercer.
For the past five years, week after week the Club has called on me to do my thing. The banquet of the restaurant is the focal point of the dining room and each week I custom create a unique design for the club members to enjoy. I thought that it might be fun to share with you the gorgeous flowers from this week's delivery. Fall is here and I love the color ! I am sure the ladies and their guests will totally enjoy them tommorrow at their end of season tournament.
An Evening in Provence
The Bay Club at Mattapoisett was the setting for this lovely summer dinner party. To the sounds of 1920's French bistro music we laid out tables with linen and burlap overlays and adorned the tables with wreaths of herbs and summer field flowers. The spicy scent of rosemary, mint and of course lavender filled the air. The flowers were loosely arranged in assorted rustic pottery as if we were going into the gardens and cupboards of a fabulous country house to decorate the dinner table.
It was important that the flowers be lit in a way that would conjure up imagery of the sun setting. It was used to light the pools fountains and landscaping that surrounds the pool. The effect was magical, as if the sun took all evening to set.
The club's executive chef created a menu pairing French country wines with simple but elegant fare, topped by a special dessert of pear tartlet with lavender ice cream.
Modern floral touches
I was touched to be asked by a long time client to style the flowers for her fiftieth wedding celebration. She had asked Michele Mottola to be her "party planner" and we all worked together to create the look of the party. The gals with their details and me in charge of the flowers. For me, the creative process always involves presenting my original sketches as a conceptual idea of what is to come. It is always fun to flip back and forth from concept to the actual creation.
I absolutely loved the use of modern furniture collections and retro inspired chairs, all in white and chrome. The all white setting was certainly conducive to the celebratory feel of fifty years and provided a really cool canvas to present the floral arrangements.
I had hoped for cool clean lines that would be conducive to the setting. In the end we all loved the soft green palette of color and the amazing flowers flown in from around the world.
The client and Michele loved the sketch but asked if I would make one change, a touch of red for the dining room please.
I arranged rare, oxblood tree peonies with the red roses the client loves so much in a modern hedge style arrangement. They looked gorgeous that day and provide just the right editorial pop.
Our Wedding
I did not dream as a little boy that I would find love and spend my life happily ever after. Meeting Kevin changed all of that. He is the one that made me believe in love. He is my best friend and my greatest fan. When you find a deep love and commitment in your heart and each other, it is only natural to think of spending your life together, so when Kevin, on bended knee and platinum band in hand, asked me to spend the rest of my life with him, he made my dreams come true and of course I said yes.
Cinco de Mayo 2007, was the most special day in my life. I set out to create the most intimate of days, filled with inspired beauty, great wine, our family and closest friends. It was so kind of my dear Friends Peter and Sally Hunsdorfer to host our ceremony at their antique home in Marion, Massachusetts. What a perfect setting in front of the fire, an antique table filled with flowers and antique buddahs, and the lush white flowers that I love so much all through the house in Sally's collection of gorgeous ditties. Kevin and I said our vows to one another in front of 20 invited guests in a service performed by my friend Lois Ennis. Her words spoke of love and caring beyond what I had previously thought. She was the perfect choice to bring us together and I am so thankful that she was there with us at one of the most intimate moments of our lives.
After the ceremony we traveled by bus to The Bay Club in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts where we were met by the gloriously romantic sounds of handsome mariachi players. We met other invited guests and enjoyed a luncheon laced with the best sangria that you have ever tasted and enjoyed shots of gazpacho laced with tequila. It was magical to say the least.
As a special surprise to Kevin and our guests, a troupe of young female dancers that I have long been a patron of, delighted our guests with a choreographed number on the lawn of the club. Kevin is a fan of Dolly Parton and I can remember first finding his scrapbook of childhood clippings of the buxom goddess. I knew then that this was the guy for me. To let our guests in on this special memory I sang a duet of "Islands in the Stream" with a long time family friend. We were having the time of our lives.
On our first date I brought Kevin a mound of tulips, so four years later it was so appropriate to fill our wedding with glorious stems of regal red and whimsical French parrot tulips. I love candy, so it was no surprise that we bid our guests good bye with a table filled with gilded sweets and yummy gummies, my favorite. And the cake.....the cake, have you ever seen something so gorgeous, quilted and gilded by the famed hands of my very good friend Lisa Raphael of Delicious Desserts.
We had the most amazing day that did not end for another twenty four hours when we landed in Las Vegas for our honeymoon and to celebrate my birthday and the wedding of another amazing friend of the family. God I just can't get enough of weddings..
A very special thanks to one of my best friends, Lauren Killian ofPerson and Killian Photography. Her photography , as you can see is simply amazing. As good as it gets. It was a honor to have you shoot our wedding and it is a privilege to be your friend.
Golden Wedding Celebration
I had the privilege and the honor to throw a fiftieth anniversary party for dear friends and clients of mine. Their story is a true example of the American Dream, and their party was one that their fifty closest friends will never forget.
They wanted a simple, elegant evening that they could share with their most cherished family and friends. We chose to host the party at The Bay Club in Mattapoiset, where the family has a membership. The Bay Club's sports and activities building is a great spot to host an elegant affair, but it takes a little creativity and some decor.
I was happy to contribute both. I brought in elegant linens in pale butter and china and gold-ware to compliment the celebratory theme. Everything was stunning, but the stars of the show were, of course, the flowers.
I wanted to display the floral bunches as if they were floating on air. I created a dozen European styled bouquets and suspended them over the table arrangements. I loved the air of whimsy that they brought, and the guest could not stop chattering.
I was honored to be included in the top fifty, although I was relegated to the kid's table. Actually, it was more of a young adults table, and my husband, Kevin, and I had a great time speaking to our seat mates in Spanish and inquiring about their educations.
I have known the family for many years and enjoyed working with them on this special event. It was so my pleasure to be in their company on such a lovely night. Thank you.
Tropical Party at Bay Club Mattapoisett
I was happy to be called on to throw a tropical themed wedding at The Bay Club in Mattapoisett. We chose to play off of the soft butter yellow and white trim of the room with gold shimmer linens and modern, square patterned china. The gold bamboo chairs added a touch of tropical elegance to the look.
The flowers were a combination of incredible orchids and tropical foliage arranged as exotic Palms that floated over guest's heads. At the base of the arrangements, my team and I laid out orange hued votive candles and lots of rose and orchid petals. As a special touch, a green orchid, the brides favorite, was positioned at each place setting for the guests to enjoy.
The party's South American guests went crazy over the Carnival theme that launched the dancing portion of the evening. I am not sure that Mattapoisett has ever seen anything like it.
