I can remember first walking into the Boston Flower Market and thinking to myself, "this is what heaven must look like." There is no way that simply photos and words can be used to describe what it feels like to be surrounded by millions and millions of flowers, literally. I feel so lucky to be able to work on some of my larger events at this famed Mecca in Boston's South End.
I feel really lucky to be able to work on my creative projects in multiple studio spaces. I have my studio here in Fairhaven, Mass but to work as a designer in a world class city is a dream come true. My space at the market, graciously provided by Berkley Wholesale florist allows me to expand the chad michael peters brand in Boston and allows me to readily serve the five star hotels, where of course, I love working.
When we are going to use our Boston space, my team and I start the day at the ungodly hour of four in the morning. Once there, we have the incredible staff of Berkley Wholesale Florist to help us with our pre-ordered stems. My CMP team gets to work, cleaning and prepping the flowers, while I puruse the markets and hand select the most amazing flowers, often the rarest in the world that will provide the couture edge that my flowers have become renound for.
There are more than 50 vendors within a two block radius that sell everything and anything that is floral related. I am always on the look out for the latest thing to incorporate into the world of wedding and party fashion. It is hard to stay focused when I want to grab literally everything in sight.
Although four in the morning is early, I look forward to the early morning drives, coffee in hand, my favorite tunes blaring as I drive up to the market. It is a thrill every time to walk, talk, laugh and joke among the many vendors who I am proud to say are also friends.
